Prior to launch of the new website, the OFCOM Regulation Checker was used to determine if the website was in or out of scope. The new website does not currently have user logins, it is a public access site, but there is no user to user (U2U) content created on it. The new website replaces all previously published email addresses with contact forms.
Our magazine for members has included email addresses in print, exchanging email between users is exempt from the Online Safety Act 2023 but is the only way our service permits U2U content sharing.
The new website was specifically modified to comply with the Act by including:
- A Complaints Policy and Complaint Form
- A Content Policy
- An updated Terms of Service
The OFCOM In-Scope checker was used to determine if a full risk assessment is required. The result was NO and is shown below.
The next risk assessment is due on 14 March 2026 or sooner if there is a functional change to the website or OFCOM release new requirements.
